EMSP Food Drive

The Emmaus Main Street Program has been collecting food for Bethel Bible Fellowship Church’s food bank for distribution among the area’s needy.  The red truck in the picture belongs to Emmaus Main Street Program member Gene Clock, who parks the vehicle outside the Emmaus Farmers’ Market every Sunday from 10am to 2pm for donations.  “The purpose is to help those needy families of the borough,” he explained.  Clock said that the food drive was a new endeavor for EMSP.  “It’s a way that the Emmaus Main Street Program can give back to the community.”

The Emmaus Main Street Program was officially incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit program to support and revitalize the Emmaus' historic downtown. Funding was provided by the state Department of Community and Economic Development with initial matching funds provided by the Borough of Emmaus.

Founded by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in early 1980's, Main Street Programs incorporate historic preservation, community consensus building, and volunteer effort to attain community and economic development.
